Role Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be an integral part of the foot and ankle team in orthopaedics. The current team consists of 5 established orthopaedic foot and Ankle specialist consultants, a specialist training fellow, registrar in training and extended scope physiotherapist with administration support.  The team treats all conditions affecting foot and ankle and is a nationally recognised centre of excellence for arthroplasty as well as being a tertiary referral centre within the region for arthroplasty and limb reconstruction.

The role would be a mix of theatre assisting/theatre coordination, clinical outpatient work, multidisciplinary team organisation and service improvement projects/research.

The role would ideally suit an established surgical care practitioner or a registered nurse/ theatre practitioner with aspirations to expand their skill set. 

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, organisational ability and effective communication skills to take the current established role and develop it and yourself as an individual within the team framework. The base hospital is the Royal Devon and Exeter, Wonford site with theatre work at the Nightingale Hospital.

The job plan time apportioned to theatre and outpatient clinic work would be flexible around the needs of the service.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday - occasional Saturdays, This will be a full time post of 37.5 hours per week and out of hours voluntary, additional work may be required.
