Role Summary

The post holder will play a key role in delivering specialist women's health and sexual health services across Devon, providing expert menopause care alongside integrated sexual and reproductive healthcare. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will contribute to improving access to high-quality, patient-centred services for a diverse population across urban and rural communities.

The role combines direct clinical care with opportunities to support service development, education, quality improvement and clinical governance. The post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues across Devon Sexual Health and the Devon Menopause Service to ensure safe, effective and innovative care, helping to meet the growing demand for specialist menopause and sexual health services.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Specialty Doctor to join Devon Sexual Health and the Devon Menopause Service on a substantive 0.5 WTE basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide specialist menopause care through remote consultations and advice and guidance, alongside integrated sexual health clinics delivering contraception and genitourinary medicine services. The post is based primarily at Barnstaple Health Centre, with flexibility for some services to be delivered remotely and opportunities for alternative clinic locations by agreement and service need. You will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team including consultants, specialty doctors, nurses, pharmacists, counsellors and administrative staff, serving the diverse populations of Devon. Applicants must have advanced menopause training and experience in providing complex menopause care, together with experience in Sexual and Reproductive Health. The successful candidate will contribute to clinical governance, education, service improvement and professional development activities as part of a dedicated Supporting Professional Activities session. This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative service committed to high-quality, accessible sexual and reproductive healthcare and women's health services across Devon. 

Working Pattern: 0.5 WTE (5 Programmed Activities per week). Current indicative working pattern is Wednesday afternoon (SPA), Thursday (morning menopause clinic and afternoon sexual health clinic) and Friday (advice and guidance sessions). Flexible working arrangements may be considered.
