Role Summary
Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine & Anaesthesia
Applications are invited for the post of Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine & Anaesthesia at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This is a permanent position based at the Royal Devon University Hospital (Eastern Services), Exeter.
The successful candidate will be based in Exeter, with on-call and residency requirements aligned to the Eastern site. There are currently no cross-cover arrangements for Anaesthetic and Intensive Care services between Trust sites. Should this become necessary in the future, any redistribution of work would be managed equitably across the Anaesthetic and Intensive Care Medicine department and would not be expected of newly appointed consultants.

The ICM and Anaesthetic commitment will total 8.5 PAs and Supporting Professional Activity will include 1.5SPA for continuing professional development. This will make a total of 10PAs. A further 1PA may be available to take this to a total of 2.5SPA depending on individuals needs, outputs and requirements of the department.
Application without a CCT in anaesthesia are welcomed and efforts will be made to design an appropriate complimentary job plan reflecting their areas of expertise.
Working Pattern: 10 PAs over all. With a 1:12 on call frequency.
