An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Northern Services, IBD Team.  The department of Gastroenterology is an expanding and progressive service; we are looking for a motivated, dynamic person, with a genuine interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease to join the IBD service.

The successful candidate will work across the IBD service delivering care to all IBD patients.

The post-holder must be able to demonstrate nursing knowledge and skill with regard to IBD patient assessment and safe and timely delivery of care. Ideally you will have experience in gastroenterology, however the Trust is prepared to develop and train a suitable high-quality individual.

Although team working is key, the successful applicant will be expected to work independently and without direct supervision, prioritising workload in a variety of clinical settings to meet the fluctuating demands of this role. As a member of the multi-disciplinary IBD Team, the post holder will provide nursing expertise related to IBD to colleagues across the Trust. There is expectation to support the infusion service in the Torrington Day Unit for IBD treatments (to cover leave/ absence, currently every Tuesday).

They will be expected to promote best practice, identifying and providing training to Health Care professionals, patients and their carer’s.

All applicants require excellent interpersonal skills and need to be self-motivated to continue their professional development. Training and supervision will be provided within the role, with opportunities to attend relevant educational opportunities.

Working Pattern: 15 hours per week. Monday to Friday
