Sister/ Charge Nurse (Internal Only)

Role Summary

The Ward Sister/Charge Nurse is responsible for providing clinical and managerial leadership to the nursing and multidisciplinary team within Buttercup Outpatients Unit. Acting as both a clinical leader and expert practitioner, the post holder will guide, support, and advise colleagues and external agencies to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centred care.

The role involves supporting and developing the healthcare support worker workforce, using performance feedback, patient outcomes, and service data to drive continuous improvement in care delivery. The Sister/Charge Nurse will actively promote a culture of learning by identifying and addressing both good and poor practice, providing constructive feedback, and demonstrating effective role modelling and mentorship.

In addition, the post holder will contribute proactively to quality improvement and service development, working in partnership with the Clinical Nurse Manager and wider multidisciplinary teams. This includes participating in clinical audit, monitoring standards of care, and implementing improvements to enhance patient outcomes.

The Sister/Charge Nurse is also responsible for maintaining a safe, supportive, and well-organised clinical environment, ensuring that all patients receive a consistently high standard of care in line with Trust policies and professional standards.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse with supervisory and mentorship experience to join the Outpatient Department at the Buttercup Unit, Nightingale Hospital.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering excellent patient care and ensuring a high-quality patient experience. The post holder will be responsible for leading the team on a daily basis, providing guidance, support, and effective coordination of services.

Applicants must be open to exploring innovative ways of working across a variety of services, contributing to the continuous improvement of care delivery and helping us provide outstanding, patient-centred care. Experience of working in an Outpatient setting is essential.

Working Pattern: Monday- Friday 08:00-18:00
