Role Summary
To work within the Clinical Training Team and be the key link between practice learning placement, the Higher Education Institutions (HEI’s), Therapies and People Development to improve the pre-registration learning experience for students, identifying, developing and facilitating learning and development.
To provide practical support to front line teams to ensure consistent high quality placements for students including supporting appropriate models of student support such as collaborative learning in practice (CLiP) and implementation of the Safe Learning Environment Charter.
To be a clinical lead for the Placement Development Team on the NMC Standards for Education and Training, Standards of proficiency for registered nurses and Standards for student supervision and assessment.

This a 12 month fixed term post/secondment opportunity. Start date 3rd March 2025.

This post will give the successful applicant the prospect to develop their portfolio in clinical education with a focus on placement development and students support. We welcome applications from both NMC/HCPC registrants.

We would like applicants to:
- Be highly motivated, with excellent communication skills
- Have experience of supporting learners in practice
- Have an ability to use your own initiative, work well under pressure, work well in a team and independently, prioritise workload to meet deadlines, whilst maintaining a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Student placement allocations for 5 local Universities
- Return to Practice
- Placement meetings for all 5 universities
- Implementing Safe Learning Environment Charter
- Student Simulation
- ePad support
- Support of validation events
- NMET
- Open days/Fayres/events
- Student forums
- Students support in practice
Working Pattern: Monday - Friday between 8-5pm
