Role Summary

We are currently recruiting for a Personal Assistant on a permanent basis, based out of North Devon District Hospital. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Nursing this role is a key position in supporting and coordinating the diaries and function of the senior Nursing Leadership team.

This post supports on a daily basis in non-clinical secretarial administrative support, including;

  • Management of complex diaries
  • Delegated management of emails
  • Ensuring effective communication between the departments and teams
  • Ensuring effective communication between corporate management teams and administration staff
  • Arranging and coordinating meetings, including organisation of agendas and associated papers
  • Administration of meetings, including typing of minutes and notes of meetings
  • Copying of letters and reports
  • Producing routine reports and newsletters
  • General office duties and implementation / maintenance of filing systems

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Personal Assistant to the Deputy Director of Nursing (Patient Experience), Interim Strategic Workforce Lead for Nursing, Midwifery and AHP’s and Associate Director of Nursing for Quality and Safety (Northern Services). This role will be based at North Devon District Hospital. The role requires previous experience within administrative services to ensure the effective running of the duties of the Deputy Director of Nursing (Patient Experience), Interim Strategic Workforce Lead for Nursing, Midwifery and AHP’s and Associate Director of Nursing for Quality and Safety (Northern Services).

The post holder will be responsible for arranging and servicing meetings, co ordinating day to day diary management, the production of presentation material and reports and ensuring that service contacts receive a prompt response to all correspondence and enquiries. The role requires advanced communication skills, organisational skills, diary, you must have the aptitude to manage your own workload use your own initiative and maintain information governance.

We are also offering an opportunity to learn on the job as an apprentice. If you do not meet the requirements of the post currently but are seeking a rewarding career in business and administration and would like to work as part of a busy team you may be the person we are looking for. You need to be enthusiastic and adaptable, with a positive attitude and willingness to contribute to new ways of working and have a flexible and dedicated approach to work.

The successful applicant will be supported in undertaking an apprenticeship programme to meet the service requirements.  As part of the apprenticeship programme you will be entitled to 20% off the job training (one day per week) with a training provider to gain the qualification.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship you will be employed as a Band  4.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday office hours
