The Operations Manager will be a core member of the Care Group Operational Services Management Team, providing essential leadership and management support across Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Perinatal Services. Working closely with clinical leads, the post holder will support the effective day‑to‑day running of services and contribute to the delivery of performance, quality and improvement objectives.

Key responsibilities include:
- Providing effective day‑to‑day operational management of allocated services, ensuring safe and timely patient care
- Supporting service performance management, including monitoring activity, access standards, workforce and operational pressures, and escalating risks or issues appropriately
- Contributing to the development and delivery of service plans, improvement initiatives and change programmes, including cross‑site working
- Managing business activities in line with Trust policies, ensuring effective use of resources and value for money, including actively contributing to the care groups DBV target.
- Supporting the delivery of quality, governance and patient safety frameworks, working with clinical leaders to embed learning and improvement
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with multidisciplinary teams, corporate functions and external partners
- Using data and performance information to identify issues, support decision‑making and drive service improvement
- Deputising for senior operational colleagues where required and supporting leadership of the service during periods of escalation
The post holder will be expected to work with a high degree of initiative within agreed frameworks, contributing positively to a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability across Women’s and Children’s Services.
Applications are invited for Band 7 Operations Managers within the Women’s and Children’s Health Care Group, supporting the Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Perinatal Services triumvirate on a fixed‑term basis until 31st March 2027. These roles offer an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery and development of high‑profile, clinically led services across the Trust’s Eastern and Northern sites.
This is a challenging and rewarding role within a fast‑paced operational environment, offering wide exposure to service performance, workforce, finance, quality and transformation activity. Working under the direction of the Senior Operations Managers, the post holder will play a key role in supporting our service triumvirates to ensure safe, effective and sustainable services aligned to Trust priorities and national requirements, including the financial priorities of 2026/27.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, resilient and experienced operational manager who is motivated by improvement and able to work confidently across complex services to support our clinical leaders. You will bring strong organisational skills, excellent communication and the ability to build effective working relationships with clinical, corporate and external stakeholders. The role requires proven experience of operational management within an acute hospital or comparable healthcare setting, enabling you to contribute from the outset.
This post is ideally suited to individuals who are looking to consolidate and further develop their operational leadership skills within a supportive Care Group structure, with opportunities to contribute to service development and transformation activity.
Working Pattern: 37.5 Hours per week.
