We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated technicians to join our Medicines Management team. This role is suitable not only for technicians that already hold a Medicines Management Accreditation but also as a Band 4 to 5 progressive role for newly qualified technicians

The successful candidate will provide a medicines management service across the acute trust including one stop dispensing, assessment of patient’s own drugs, medicines reconciliation and discharge facilitation and be part of the technician checking rota as appropriate.

Our team of hardworking, focused, ambitious and friendly medicines management technicians have helped develop the service across the trust and are valued members of the clinical pharmacy and ward teams providing safe, accurate and effective patient care.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a wide range of patients and healthcare professionals whilst developing your skills and experience in Pharmacy. Any successful newly qualified technician will be provided with structured training for a year with clear objectives that will need to be attained before progressing in to a substantive Band 5 position.

The hospital is in the historical cathedral city of Exeter that has plenty of family amenities and beautiful surrounding countryside. Exeter has excellent transport links, being situated in the middle of the South West Region with easy access to the countryside and coast of Devon and Cornwall. It is 2 hours by train to London and our international airport serves flights to various European destinations.

Please note that in order to deliver a high standard of care to patients the Pharmacy service operates 7 days a week and staff are therefore required to work some weekends as part of their contracted hours

You must be a registered pharmacy technician and ideally hold a nationally recognised Medicines Management/Medicines Optimisation accreditation or be working towards the accreditation.
