An exciting appointment opportunity has arisen for an experienced, motivated and innovative Registered Children’s Nurse interested in working within the Community Children’s Nursing Team as a Band 6 Community Children's Nurse on a Fixed Term contract to cover sickness for 6 months or longer.

As a Band 6 CCN experience in team leading and community working is essential. Setting high professional standards, the post holder will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and ability to team work and lead by example.

The team is responsible for providing generic nursing care to children with short and long-term conditions within their own homes and wider community, therefore the post-holder should have a thorough understanding in safeguarding and a broad range of clinical knowledge and skills in paediatric nursing who can work autonomously in role.

The candidate should be able to demonstrate an ability to educate patients, parent/carers, professionals and other agencies about different health care conditions when necessary. With excellent organisational and time management skills, an ability to caseload manage your own work and oversee the caseloads of other team members will be necessary and delegation of referrals or tasks to other team members would also be necessary; therefore a dynamic, supportive person with this team working approach is essential.

You will need to work in partnership with all levels of Health Care professionals and NHS providers of services as well as with other statutory and voluntary agencies. Although this is currently a 9 - 5pm Monday to Friday service, the appointed person would be expected to work flexibly around these times during the week to meet the health care needs of patient’s. A car owner/driver is essential.

Working Pattern: 30 hours per week, 09:00 - 17:00 hours Monday to Friday (working flexibly around patient needs, for earlier or later visits)

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2024-5 rates, inclusive of a 5.5% pay award implemented from October 2024. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 2024 or your start date, whichever is later. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2023-4 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2023/24 | NHS Employers).
