Based primarily at our Sidmouth and Tiverton Ambulatory Units, this role offers a balanced mix of operational leadership and strategic influence. You will have the pleasure of mentoring, supporting, and running a friendly team, while maintaining and applying your specialist clinical skills to improve patient care, safety, and outcomes.
As a senior clinical leader, you will drive service development, quality improvement, and governance, ensuring the highest standards of care and patient experience. You will also have the opportunity to shape the future of ambulatory services across East Devon, with occasional support across the Northern and Eastern footprint as required.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide visible clinical leadership to nursing teams, operational colleagues, patients and service users.
• Mentor, develop, and inspire your team, creating a supportive and high-performing environment.
• Lead the development, delivery and governance of Ambulatory Care and Community Phlebotomy services.
• Balance operational management and strategic planning, ensuring safe staffing, workforce capacity, and service sustainability.
• Drive service improvement, innovation and evidence-based practice, continually enhancing patient care and experience.
Skills, Experience and Attributes
• Advanced clinical knowledge and specialist skills in ambulatory care and phlebotomy.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development abilities.
• Highly effective communication skills and an ability to manage complex workloads, operational priorities, and strategic planning simultaneously.
• Capable of making complex clinical decisions, managing risk, and leading policy development in partnership with wider health agencies.
