Role Summary

We are looking to recruit a Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist to join a team of highly enthusiastic and motivated professionals.  The successful candidate will work in the community and acute setting and will be responsible for managing a caseload of patients with respiratory disease, providing effective disease management for complex patients.  The successful candidate will also be involved in the redevelopment of the Oxygen assessment service.

An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Respiratory nursing team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Trust.

We are looking to recruit a Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist, to join a team of highly enthusiastic and motivated professionals, dedicated to providing the highest quality Respiratory care to the population of North Devon.

The successful candidate will work within the Trust (both community and in the Acute setting) and will be responsible for managing a caseload of patients with respiratory disease such as;

Asthma

TB

ILD

Oxygen therapy (LTOT/AOT)

Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (CPAP)

Type 2 Respiratory Failure (BIPAP/NIV)

You will ensure you provide effective disease management for complex patients with the aim of avoiding hospital admission where possible.

You will be involved in the redevelopment of the Oxygen assessment service within the hospital and the community setting.

You will be reviewing patients on the wards with a view to reduce length of stay and in the clinic setting. You will require good organisation and communication skills.  You must have the ability to work collaboratively with integrated care partners and as a member of a team as well as autonomously.

You will be supported by senior members of the team, respiratory consultants and respiratory advanced practitioners. You will have an excellent opportunity to develop clinical and management skills whilst contributing to audits and research.

Working Pattern: Monday-Friday but flexible hours will be considered if requested
