Role Summary

The ENT Departments at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust are looking to appoint a Consultant in ENT, Thyroid and Head and Neck Surgery. This post is arising as a result of an exciting opportunity to expand the existing service between the two sites which are already working closely together as part of Head and Neck Cancer and Thyroid MDTs. It is anticipated that the post holder will be based at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital with a fair proportion of their working week spent at Torbay Hospital.

The post holder will complement an existing team of 8 consultants in Exeter, and 6 in Torbay who have a philosophy of team working and who are constantly seeking to provide a first class service in a caring and patient oriented environment.

The post will include on-call, theatre and outpatient clinics both on the acute sites and in community settings.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate flexibility within their job plan to accommodate the evolving service reconfiguration and to support the service.

Applicants must be registered medical practitioners and either be on the GMC Specialist Register, or be within 6 months of completion of specialist training at the date of interview.  Evidence of this should be provided with your application. Please include contact details of a minimum of 3 referees from the last 3 years of your employment.  If you are a Consultant one referee should be your current or most recent Medical Director.  If you are a Locum Consultant one referee should be your Clinical Director or equivalent.
