Due to retirement, we have an exciting substantive, full time opportunity for a dynamic Physiotherapist Advanced Practitioner to join our enthusiastic community-based therapy team in Bideford. The post holder will work across an integrated team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and the wider Multidisciplinary Team.

The rehabilitation team, consisting of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, assistant practitioners and clinical support workers, provide a therapy rehabilitation service to the community of the Bideford and district locality as part of an integrated, dynamic, award winning health and social care team.

Our patients are referred by Primary and Secondary Care. Our work is consistently varied and stimulating covering admission prevention and supporting discharge, rehabilitation and re-integration in a range of community settings through holistic, medical, social and public health approaches. The caseload is extremely variable including neurology, respiratory, orthopedics, falls and urgent care work.

The post offers a flexible and supportive opportunity for personal and professional development. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring excellence within the team by initiating and participating in service development, education programs and delivery, supervision and mentorship alongside the Occupational Therapist Advanced Practitioner and the Therapy Team Lead. Additional and integral to the role are co-ordinating and managing occupational and physiotherapy student placements from Plymouth University and supporting further education such as the trainee assistant practitioner programme.

The post holder will have the opportunity to work with the other North Devon Community Therapy Advanced Practitioners to contribute towards and deliver on North Devon wide services and education. There is also the opportunity to work closely with the band 7 leads of the Bideford Health and Social care team, helping shape the future of the integrated service that is provided.

Working Pattern: It is a full-time post with the hours being completed Monday to Friday with occasional additional weekend working.
