Role Summary
As a Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist, you will provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice to patients and their carers within a community setting. Your caseload will include patients with acute and chronic conditions, complex disabilities and rehabilitation needs, and may also include palliative and end-of-life care. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring physiotherapy input is integrated into patient-centred care plans and supporting patients to achieve the best possible outcomes.
The role requires autonomous practice, including occasional lone working, alongside the supervision, training and support of junior staff and students. You will work closely with managers and colleagues to support service development, respond to changing patient needs, and help deliver high-quality, equitable services across the Trust. Participation in weekend and on-call services may be required in line with service needs.

Are you a Band 6 Physiotherapist, or an experienced Band 5 looking for the next step in your career? We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and forward-thinking Physiotherapist to join our Community Inpatient Rehabilitation Team at Sidmouth Community Hospital.
Sidmouth Community Hospital is situated in the beautiful East Devon coastal town of Sidmouth and provides rehabilitation services to patients from the local community and surrounding areas. You will join a friendly, supportive and passionate multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality patient care and rehabilitation in a community setting.
Working closely with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Rehabilitation Support Workers, you will support patients with a wide range of acute and long-term conditions across specialties including musculoskeletal, respiratory, trauma, geriatrics, vascular conditions and falls rehabilitation. You will be responsible for providing high-quality assessments, developing and delivering rehabilitation programmes, managing your own caseload and supporting the development of junior colleagues.
We are looking for an individual with relevant clinical experience who can demonstrate flexibility, initiative and excellent team-working skills. Previous community experience would be advantageous but is not essential. This is a fantastic opportunity for an innovative and adaptable Physiotherapist to further develop their skills while making a meaningful difference to patients within a supportive community rehabilitation team.
Working Pattern: 34 hours per week, Monday to Friday, including occasional weekend working.
