Role Summary

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Administrator to join our Dietetics/Weight Management team within the Therapy Admin Department.  This is a part time role (22.5 hours) and will be based at North Devon District Hospital.

You will have the skills and experience within an office environment and be a good team player. The ability to liaise with clinical staff and patients and demonstrate strong compassion in patient care and communication is essential.

The role includes;

  • Using the Bookwise system, you will request/cancel clinic rooms.
  • Communicating with the Therapy and Clinical Leads to escalate urgent patient information.
  • Scanning of patient notes and uploading into the EPIC System.
  • Be the first point of contact for all incoming phone calls from various members of staff, patients and departments.
  • Booking and rescheduling of patient appointments.
  • Assist with referrals inputting information onto our EPIC system.
  • Attend team meetings, prepare agendas and type up minutes and update EPIC as part of the meeting.
  • Ordering stock on Unit 4 and update stores order list and keep up to date.
  • You may be asked to support other teams as is operationally needed.

The ideal candidate will be approachable, friendly and extremely organised due to the variety of the role.

You will have a keen eye for detail and be experienced in a general administration setting, producing documents, reports, discharge letters and general correspondence. Experienced working knowledge of EPIC is preferred but full training will be provided.

You will be able to work as an integral part of the wider Therapy Admin Team and be willing to learn new skills. The role requires excellent IT, communication and interpersonal skills and you will need to be able to remain calm and professional when faced with changing or challenging situations.

Our ideal candidate will have a good standard of education with an NVQ level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent.

Working Pattern: Wednesday to Friday 08.00 to 16.00
