Role Summary

The Seamoor Unit is a busy combined chemotherapy and medical day treatment unit with outpatient and clinic facilities. Opening hours are 8-6pm.

More detail about the role

The ideal applicant will have had experience in administrative tasks previously. Be able to copy typing, documentation and general correspondence, have good knowledge of IT systems and keen to learn. You will be able to work as an integral part of the wider Seamoor Admin team and be willing to learn new skills. The role requires excellent IT, communication and interpersonal skills and you will need to be able to remain calm and professional when faced with changing or challenging situations.

You will have a good standard of education with an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent. We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic, motivated and adaptable person to join our friendly team. Within the supporting statement of your application, please can you provide an example of where you have demonstrated "Striving for Excellence" within a similar role.

Applications are invited from enthusiastic individuals to be responsible for the organisation of the administration and a clerical (A&C) team within the Seamoor unit at Barnstaple hospital. The candidate will ensure the provision of an effective and  responsive team, organising and prioritising workload on a daily basis to ensure deadlines are met and all direct enquiries are acted upon appropriately.

This is an exciting, varied and responsible post requiring a high standard of organisational and communication skills. You will have effective computer skills along with leadership abilities, as well as being able to use your own initiative in prioritising work and meeting deadlines.

Full in-service training will be provided.

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.  For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.
