An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, skilled and motivated person to join the Nursing Leadership team in the Intensive Care Unit. The Unit is a busy adult ICU with over 1000 admissions per year, including emergency and elective work, including paediatric admissions. This busy, friendly unit prides itself on the delivery of high quality care. The ICU was assessed as outstanding in our last CQC inspection.
The successful applicant will join the Senior Nursing team and contribute both to the day to day running of the unit and provide expert care to patients requiring interventional therapies to manage critical illness. The applicant will also be required to liaise with the multi-professional team and other services / departments within the Trust to promote good working relationships and take an active role in ICU development and education programmes.
The applicant will need to have a sound knowledge of all aspects of adult critical care and training in paediatric critical care. They will also be required to demonstrate current experience of managing a busy ICU (which might include developmental learning experience) on a day to day basis.
The Unit delivers an on line accredited adult ICU course with, together with a Care of a paediatric Patient in adult ICU course.
Applicants will need to have 3 years recent experience at Band 5 and able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of critical care nursing and management experience. Evidence of on-going professional development is essential.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Long days, nights, weekends and bank holidays
