Role Summary

• To provide clinical leadership within the ward unit 24hrs and supporting Therapies, pre-assessment and recovery during the day.

• To be responsible for the standards of patient care and services within the team, ensuring

   that nursing practice and patient services are in line with NMC Codes, statutory and Trust

   requirements.

• To provide direction, supervision and control to team members in order that they provide

   patient care and services which are appropriate to the individual needs of the patient and the ward/unit.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Nurse with previous Ward experience to apply and be part of the Clinical Team, offering excellent patient care and experience at the South West Ambulatory Orthopaedic Centre.

It would be an advantage for applicants to have knowledge and clinical skills in peri-operative care of patients undergoing Orthopaedic surgery, or with previous experience in Therapies and pre-assessment, however, if you don’t have this do not let that stop you from applying as you’ll receive full training to join the team where you will be valued and supported, with career development opportunities available.

Applicants will need to be open to new ways of working to support us to deliver our vision for day case orthopaedic surgery.

The South West Ambulatory Orthopaedic Centre (SWAOC) is a system collaboration to utilise the best clinical pathways from across the UK for delivery of high volume ambulatory orthopaedic surgery at a single designated facility, located at the Nightingale Hospital. The focus will initially be on hip and knee arthroplasty, and non-instrumented spine surgery, but may include other sub-specialties later. Having opened in March 2022 we are looking to recruit to permanent Ward Nurse roles to join our clinical team.

Working Pattern: This post is being offered on a permanent or external secondment basis with flexible and part-time working arrangements considered.
