Role Summary
- Provide a proactive and professional welcome to the ward reception, acting as the public face for the Trust
- Deliver an efficient administrative and clerical service to the Ward Team
- Maintain effective communication to both patients, relatives and staff in order to ensure the smooth running of the ward; enhancing patient care
- Ensure all information is secure and confidentiality of information is maintained at all times
- Provide excellent customer care which may include communication with distressed and anxious patients and relatives, treating them with tact and empathy
- Ensure the professional image of the Trust is maintained at all times

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Medicine Ward Clerk Team. The post will be working within Yealm Ward at the RD&E Wonford site to provide exceptional administrative support. We are looking for highly motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic individuals who operate to a high standard with strong organisational skills as this dynamic role will keep you both challenged and busy.
The role is a 37.5 hour permanent position per week, Monday – Friday.
You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as you will be working closely with; ward consultants, doctors, matrons, nurses and admin staff. It is essential that you have the ability to interact with patients calmly, sensitively and efficiently both on the telephone and in person. You will also be adaptable, reliable and be able to multi-task along with being an excellent team player. This can be a challenging role but rewarding role.
Working Pattern: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:00
