We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual for an exciting new role with Security Management at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a brand new role to support the victims of assault and abuse at work to ensure they are supported and if necessary seek sanctions against the perpetrator. This role will be part of the wider team and support the violence prevention and reduction work Trustwide.
Your approach will need to be adaptive, empathetic, and respectful, focusing on the care and dignity of all those involved. At the same time you will need to work along police and CPS colleagues and be willing to ensure correct procedures are followed.
Support victims of violence and aggression by undertaking welfare checks, supporting through any sanctions process including dealing with the police and attending court.
To work in partnership with the police to investigate crimes committed against staff. This will include assaults, threats and racial abuse. To also assist in the investigation of other incidents such as criminal damage and public disorder.

- Support victims alongside line managers to access support and undertake robust investigations
- Support victims in their interaction with police and support the sanction process
- Support the police with the gathering of evidence to support a prosecution
What we are looking for
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with individuals in a variety of circumstances.
- A calm and confident approach, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and remain composed under pressure.
- A commitment to treating everyone with respect and upholding the values of compassion, integrity, and inclusion.
- Previous experience in victim support with an understanding of police and CPS processes is beneficial but not essential—full training will be provided.
