We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Tissue Viability (TV) Lead Nurse (Band 8b) to provide expert leadership and strategic direction for the TV Service across Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This trust-wide, full-time post will drive improvements in patient care, lead service development and ensure best practice in TV. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders, manage the TV team and champion high standards of care, education and innovation. The post is available to start from 1st April 2026.

About the Role
Are you an experienced nurse leader with a passion for Tissue Viability (TV) and service improvement? We are seeking a dynamic and visionary TV Lead Nurse to join our Clinical Specialist Services Care Group. This is a trust-wide, full-time post, offering the opportunity to shape and lead the TV Service across the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The post is available to start from 1st April 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert leadership, workforce development and advice for the TV Service across the Trust.
- Lead and challenge clinical practice, driving improvements in patient services and quality for TV.
- Develop and implement best practice and research evidence to support nursing and enhance patient/carer experience.
- Act as the professional lead for the Trust TV service and line manage the TV Clinical Matron.
- Advise senior Trust leaders on compliance with statutory guidance and best practice for TV.
- Promote a culture of dignity, respect and empowerment for all patients and their families.
- Represent the Trust at local, regional and national forums as required.
About You
Essential:
- Registered Nurse with current and relevant NMC registration.
- MSc in Nursing or a health-related field, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Extensive experience at a senior nurse level within TV, including clinical and management experience.
- Proven ability to lead teams, influence at a senior level and drive service improvements.
- Strong communication, negotiation and analytical skills.
- Experience in policy development, service change and clinical governance.
- Commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice.
- Ability to travel across Trust sites as required.
Desirable:
- Post-registration qualification or postgraduate diploma in a relevant specialty.
- Project management experience.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours
