Main Responsibilities:
Supervise and support the administrative team; including carrying out regular PDRs, 1:1s, sickness absence monitoring, annual leave monitoring, recruitment & training of new team members.
Provide excellent customer care, including communication with patients and their relatives/carers
Promote a positive and supportive team culture
Oversee booking of appointments for acute and urgent patients
Monitor the ophthalmology waiting lists, escalating overdue patients as needed
Use data reports to track and manage waiting lists; report findings to the management team
Identify capacity issues and work proactively to support future service planning
Assist with set up of clinics in EPIC and update clinician rotas in MediRota
Escalate issues regarding clinic closures and coordinate with management team to arrange additional clinics where necessary
Attend and contribute to regular team and service meetings
Take minutes as required

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2025/6 rates, inclusive of a 3.6% pay award which will be implemented later this year. If you join before the implementation date, the pay award will be backdated to your start date. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2024/5 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2024/25 | NHS Employers)
