Applications are invited for the post of Specialty Doctor in Anaesthesia and Critical Care at North Devon District Hospital, part of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Northern Services. The acute hospital in Barnstaple provides a full complement of secondary care services for the local population, including emergency care, cancer services, maternity and paediatric services.

Devon is consistently voted as one of the best places to live in England and North Devon has some of the best beaches in the UK, is classed as a World Surf Reserve and has the nearby National Parks of Exmoor and Dartmoor.

The successful applicant will join the growing Department of Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Pain; currently consisting of 25 Consultants, 16 SAS doctors and 11 Core Trainees. You will provide a mixture of theatre lists and participation in the out-of-hours service - providing anaesthetic support to maternity, Critical Care (including inter-hospital transfers), theatres and pain management. You will also have 1.5 SPA allocation and we encourage our Specialty Doctors to develop their careers towards the Specialist Grade or CESR.
