Specialist Nursery Nurse (Paediatric Bladder and Bowel Care)

Role Summary

The role of the Paediatric Bladder and Bowel Care Specialist Nursery Nurse will be to provide education and training to Early Years settings. (Children's Centres, Pre-Schools, Nurseries and Schools) to provide support around children who not achieved continence because of their additional needs and who are experiencing difficulties with toilet training.

The role includes providing workshops to parents/carers of children with additional needs to support them with toilet training.

The Paediatric Bladder and Bowel Care Specialist Nursery Nurse does not require daily supervision and should be able to take responsibility for their work but will be supported through the Specialist Paediatric Bladder and Bowel Care Nurse.

The post holder will work as part of the Paediatric Bladder and Bowel Care Team. They will provide training and education to promote Healthy Bladders and Bowels, delivering training to Early Years settings regarding the on-going support given to children who have not achieved continence because of their additional needs. They will provide pro-active advice for the achievement of toilet training for children who have had a delay in this developmental milestone.

The post holder will support individual children known to the Paediatric Bladder and Bowel Care Service by implementing a structured toileting programme within their early years settings and advising and supporting staff.

Working Pattern: 24.75 hours per week.

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2024-5 rates, inclusive of a 5.5% pay award implemented from October 2024. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 2024 or your start date, whichever is later. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2023-4 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2023/24 | NHS Employers).
