Role Summary

The Digital Services Division aims to develop a culture of continual service improvement.

The post holder will support managers to develop this culture.
The post holder will form part of the Service Desk Team to provide first line support to
clients on all matters relating to IT provision. To log all calls according to departmental
procedures and either resolve the issue directly or assign work to the relevant Team as
appropriate.

This post includes joining an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours cover for
specific systems. This role provides front line support to clients, and is often the first contact that clients have
with the IT service. It is therefore a key requisite of this post to maintain a client focus as all
times.

The post-holder will make a significant contribution to service development and
modernisation programme of the NHS through the successful delivery of Digital Services
Division’s programmes, projects, support and the re-engineering of business processes in
conjunction with the service.

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust have a vacancy for 2 members of staff to join the IT Service Desk team.  We are looking to recruit individuals who have a passion for providing an excellent customer focused experience for the healthcare professionals we support across Devon.

We are looking for individuals to join a team of like minded people who believe that team work is essential to provide a unified, customer focused service.  Members of the team own the collective responsibility for the overall performance of the service and show integrity, attention to detail and demonstrate a “can do” attitude at all times.

Any successful candidate will need the ability to respond to all support requests in a tactful, diplomatic and compassionate manner.  Each candidate will also have the following experience and abilities:

  • A friendly and helpful telephone manner.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to work to deadlines
  • Experience of working in an “IT Service Desk” environment.
  • A working knowledge of the Microsoft Office packages.
  • A working knowledge of Active Directory

Experience of supporting IT systems in a hospital Service Desk environment is also desirable.

Working Pattern: Currently the Service Desk opening hours are Monday to Friday 07:30 to 20:00
