Role Summary

We have a substantive service coordinator vacancy, 30 hours a week, in our integrated Heart Failure service

The role is to provide and coordinate administration support and service coordination for the heart failure specialist nurse team, based at Newcourt House, Exeter.

Our team provide specialist care for heart failure patients during an acute admission, and in the community. We are passionate about the care we provide to our patients and carers and also in supporting each other.

The heart failure service is delivered by a team of specialist nurses and a small admin team.

We have a vacancy for the essential role of service coordinator for our service.

We are looking for a confident, calm, dynamic person for this post whose primary role is ensuring the efficient and effective running of the service.  This is a hugely rewarding job in a welcoming, forward-thinking team.  We invite applications from individuals who have a strong work ethic, able to use own initiative, with a commitment to the smooth running and development of the service.

Role summary:

  • Responsible for the day to day supervision of the administration team.
  • Ensure the administration team provide a professional, comprehensive, efficient, accurate and timely service.
  • Provide high quality personal assistance to management team including responsible administrative support in their absence, using own initiative and working without supervision.   
  • Ensure all information is secure and confidentiality of information is maintained at all times.
  • Provide excellent customer care which may include communication with distressed and anxious patients and relatives, treating them with tact and empathy.
  • Ensure the professional image of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is maintained at all times.
  • To provide day to day operational management support to the Service Lead with the aim of ensuring the speciality is running effectively and efficiently.

Working Pattern: 30 hours per week 4 days a week
