Role Summary

  • To provide a full and efficient secretarial service to the botox service within Neurology. This will include proof reading, minute taking, diary management and ensuring that all documentation is produced to an excellent standard.
  • To provide full phone line cover for the botox service line which includes managing patient expectations in regards to clinic and service demand and capacity.
  • Supporting with prescriptions for clinicians and nurses  
  • To liaise with the appropriate clinical team members on a daily basis.
  • Ensure all information is secure and confidentiality of information is maintained at all times 
  • Complete the letters in a timely manner to support updates on medications are notified to GP’s and patients.
  • Organise clinics and liaise with the booking office as per updates for clinic activity.
  • Provide excellent customer care which may include communication with distressed and anxious patients and relatives, treating them with tact and empathy
  • Use multiple computer systems as required within the department such as EPIC (MyCare), MS Office applications
  • Ensure the professional image of the Trust is maintained at all times
  • Adhering to Trust policies, systems and procedures (including the Trusts’ Confidentiality policy
  • Working as part of the Neurology admin team as a collective.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Service Administrator (Medical Secretary) to join the Neurology Team, based in Bowmoor House, Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital Wonford.

We have an exciting role working as the main administrative secretarial support for the Botox service within Neurology. As an individual we are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a busy and vibrant team, who is able to prioritise their workload, and can remain calm under pressure.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be an essential, proven experience in dealing with service users/patients on the telephone. You will be flexible and adaptable with excellent IT skills. You will need to enjoy the challenge of working as part of a team yet have the ability to use your own initiative to meet the changing needs of the department and Neurology service. 

As a team we are encouraging of personal and professional development, full training and support would be provided to help you learn and develop within this role. 

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday.
