- Booking clinics, scheduling/rescheduling appointments
- Booking/re-scheduling patient surgery admissions
- Provide excellent customer care which may include communication via Telephone calls or emails with distressed and anxious patients and relatives.
- Undertake general clerical duties such as scanning of paperwork, editing and sending patient clinic letters, updating of several databases.
- Ensure all Administrative processes and enquiries are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner.
- Working closely with the Ophthalmology Clinical team to ensure a seamless service to our patients.
- Assisting and supporting, including cross covering of other members of the Administrative Team in Ophthalmology.

We are looking for a personable, well organised, enthusiastic person to provide an efficient, professional administrative service to the Ophthalmology Department within the Surgical Services Division. This dynamic role will keep you both challenged and busy. You will be required to work to deadlines in line with our Trust targets.
You must be highly motivated with excellent communication skills, an ability to use your own initiative and be able to work well under pressure and react quickly. You will be adaptable, reliable and be able to multi-task along with being an excellent team player. You will have excellent administration experience. You will be working with a wide range of people and communicating with both patients and staff therefore empathy and patience is essential.
The post holder will support the Service Coordinator/Administration Line Manager, providing a professional, efficient and effective administrative service to patients and visitors in accordance with Trust policies and standards.
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00
