Role Summary

Due to service growth we are please to offer a new Band 6 Senior Radiographer role within the x-ray team at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital.

The successful applicant will have an interest in service improvement, and will support the Superintendent Radiographer in co-ordinating the audit timetable for the team.  Along with the other Senior Radiographers they will also supprt in the provision of a robust preceptorship programme for new staff and annual developement reviews of junior team members.

Previous NHS experience is essential.

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Radiographer to join our growing Medical Imaging department at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as a Senior Radiographer. This role is based at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in central Exeter, with rotation to our CDC at the Nightingale Hospital, Exeter and support of our 7 community hosptial sites across the Eastern Devon region.  

Our medical imaging team provide a broad range of imaging modality services including, fully DR X-Ray, Nuclear Medicine, Interventional Radiology, CT, MRI, and Ultrasound. We also have a dedicated team of radiographers delivering imaging across 7 community locations, some of whom also rotate through the acute site. The department opens from 8am until 8pm 7 days a week, with 24hour services for A&E and ward services. We operate an on call and a shift pattern, and successful applicants will participate in this.

Our core commitment to supporting professional development is demonstrated in our growing number of Reporting Radiographers who support Axial, Appendicular, CT Colon, Chest, and DXA reporting. We are also delighted to be delivering a rolling programme of sonographer training, now in its seventh year and have trained 2 Advanced Clinical Practitioners in MSK and Interventional Ultrasound. The department continues to support other post graduate education and has recently financed MSc studies for staff.

We are proudly in our ninth year as an accredited centre under the UKAS Quality Standards for Imaging (QSI) Accreditation Scheme, and have demonstrated a commitment to continued quality improvement for patients and staff.

Successful candidates to the role will be flexible, adaptable and patient focussed, aiming to deliver the highest standards of clinical care.

Working Pattern: 7 days working, providing cover 8am-8pm with on-call commitments
