Senior Project Manager

Role Summary

As a senior member of the Corporate Programme Management Team, the post holder is responsible for providing project and programme management expertise to develop, deliver and monitor the Trust’s key transformation programmes. They will lead the redesign and implementation of improved non-clinical services which are high quality, effective and financially sustainable.

The post holder will maintain rigorous programme governance and documentation management throughout the lifecycle of each assigned programmes / projects in accordance with Trust policy.  The post holder will need to have the ability to manage and coordinate multiple programmes / projects concurrently including interdependencies, within an environment of change. They will communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders at varying levels of expertise and responsibility.

The post holder will provide programme expertise to Programme Boards, ensuring monitoring, successful delivery of key milestone and performance indicators, and overall outcomes on time and within allocated resources. They will also have line manage accountability within the team.

  • This role will work alongside and support our trust executives and other senior leaders to deliver the Royal Devon corporate and strategic programmes to achieve our Trust strategy. Candidates will be expected to have an expert background in project management processes, including stakeholder management. They will also demonstrate knowledge across a wide range of operational and corporate services, such as financial, clinical and cross-organisational and network evidence is also required. We aim to proactively reduce the workload of our frontline staff by our efficient project management approach, managing complexity and culture aligned with our trust values. Candidates need to be enthusiastic, motivated and innovative, with excellent organisational skills and evidence of a wide array of project management skills and evidence of delivery. 
  • Individuals will need to demonstrate robust project governance skills, while also evidencing problem solving abilities to support teams in identifying root causes of issues. Providing project management coaching to our wider staff will form part of this role, as well as evidencing an agile and responsive project management approach to facilitate successful delivery within available resources.  
  • Experience of leading multiple projects and managing a wider range of staff needs to be evidenced within the application. Details of the varied types of projects successfully managed should be provided, including experience in delivering corporate and strategic transformation projects. Experience of writing and developing business cases, board reports, impact assessments and project governance methodology is essential. Evidence of strategy development is also desirable as CPMO collaborates with the Transformation Team, Partnership and Strategy Team and other strategic partners. 
  • Productive team working, excellent communication skills and remaining professional at all times, are essential. As senior managers, we work autonomously with senior leaders across a matrix project framework. You will lead project delivery internally, as well as across One Devon and the Peninsular. Evidence of system working with multiple organisations scoping, implementing and delivering complex projects is required.

Working Pattern: Mon-Fri 37.5hrs per week
