Role Summary

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced marketing professional to join Royal Devon’s Fundraising Team at a really exciting time in our development.

The post holder will help the charity to grow its communications and digital income throughout the region by:

  • Increasing the charity’s profile and celebrating our successes.
  • Inspiring new supporters by writing compelling and engaging web copy, press releases, and patient/donor stories.
  • Developing multi-channel communications to support current and future appeals.
  • Maintaining all of the charity’s social media channels.
  • Help to develop materials and methods to maintain positive relationships with our supporters and maximise new fundraising opportunities.

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.  For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Marketing and Communications Officer to help us fulfil the objectives in our fundraising strategy. Bringing experience across communications, digital marketing, and public relations, the postholder will join us at a pivotal time as we set out our ambitions for fundraising at the Royal Devon as a recently merged organisation.

Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and the Fundraising Manager, and with professional support from the Trust’s communications, engagement, and marketing teams, the post holder will be the go-to link in the charity for communications. You will coordinate and bring together the expertise they need from across the teams to deliver their work plan.

You will work to raise the charity’s profile and celebrate its positive impact on patients and NHS staff. You will take the lead in creating written, photographic, and video content for a range of communication channels. This will include updating the charity’s web pages coordinating social media content and producing digital and printed marketing materials, as well as supporting the charity team with events and activities so we can maximise income..

The post holder will review the effectiveness of marketing and communications activities and will continuously adapt the approach to ensure it is supporting the charity to meet its ambitions and financial targets..

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday (9am - 5pm) with occasional evenings and weekend work.
