Our Asthma Senior Support Workers (SHCSWs) are a vital part of the Respiratory Medicine team, supporting the delivery of high quality asthma care across clinics, biologic pathways and patient education activities. You will work closely with the Asthma Team Leads and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure patients receive safe, compassionate and effective care.

You will be a valued member of the service from day one. Our induction and respiratory specific training programme will equip you with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in this specialist area. We are committed to ongoing learning and development, offering clear pathways for progression for those who are ambitious and eager to grow.

The team

Our Asthma Service is a supportive, knowledgeable and highly collaborative team made up of Asthma Nurses, Respiratory Physiotherapists and Consultants. We deliver care across outpatient clinics, biologic therapy pathways, admission avoidance programmes and community based respiratory initiatives. The team prides itself on being caring, compassionate and inclusive and you will be welcomed whatever your background or previous experience.

Working Pattern:  This role is primarily full time, Monday to Friday with standard hours usually 08:00–16:00. The Asthma Team is flexible and supportive and working hours can be adjusted where appropriate following discussion with the Asthma Team Leads. This allows staff to balance service needs with individual circumstances while maintaining safe and effective patient care.
