Job Title:  Senior Healthcare Support Worker (Podiatry)

Location: Eastern Locality, Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

As a Senior Healthcare Support Worker (Podiatry), you will make a difference caring for our patients, many of whom require ongoing footcare for high-risk conditions, such as Diabetes.

You will be looking after patients with a variety of foot conditions in a range of settings.  Duties may include:

  • Providing clinical support to podiatrists, including assistance in ulcer/wound care and surgical clinics
  • Running your own footcare clinics and domiciliary visits, providing nail care under the guidance of a podiatrist
  • Assisting in the day-to-day running of clinics, including preparation of clinic rooms, ensuring smooth operation of multi-disciplinary team clinics, managing stock, and handling clinical administration
  • Assisting with patient care and education, providing wound dressings, and liaising with other departments

About You:

  • A caring, motivated individual with excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Level 3 qualification in healthcare
  • Good time management and IT skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment

Working Hours:

A healthy work-life balance is essential, and Devon is a great place to enjoy it. There are opportunities for full-time (37.5hrs per week) or part-time hours and have permanent and fixed term 12 month roles available. We have a flexible working policy that we are happy to discuss to establish suitable options for you and the department.  

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week for the substantive position and 37.5 hours and 22.5 hours on a fixed term basis.

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.  For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.
