Role Summary
Castle Place GP Practice has a unique and exciting opportunity for two part-time Senior Healthcare Support Workers to join our team. Our permanent role is for 21 hours per week, and we have a fixed term contract until March 2024 for 13.5 hours.
As part of our team, you will:
- Form part of a multi-disciplinary team providing and recording nursing procedures, screening and health promotion services to the Practice population.
- Understand the principles of healthy living, chronic disease management and provision of care in the primary care setting.
- Assist medical and clinical personnel in the care of practice patients, to include treatment, preventative care, screening and patient education under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse/Clinician.
- Practice in accordance with Trust standards and statutory requirements and operate within the boundaries of the role and assessed competencies.
- Undertake administrative duties as required

Castle Place Practice, which is part of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, is uniquely positioned to thrive in the ongoing development of integrated care. A friendly practice within a market town holding 14,100 patients on its list this is an exciting time to join the team.
We are located within spacious modern premises adjacent to a community hospital with a wide range of services including radiology, inpatients and urgent care. We are very much a team-based practice with a democratic approach across specialities. We pride ourselves on providing excellent care with a supportive ethos. We meet regularly throughout the day including at morning huddle and coffee.
Our multi skilled team extend to Nurses, ANPs, Clinical Pharmacists, Paramedic, Physiotherapists and being a teaching and training practice makes this a dynamic place to work. We are one of two practices within Tiverton Primary Care Network (PCN) which makes us an effective size for collaboration. Work life balance is important to us and maintaining enthusiasm for general practice through learning and development.
As we strengthen our partnership with the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, which delivers acute, community and primary care across the region, we are developing opportunities for greater collaboration with a huge range of specialties, and this will include opportunities to enhance the care provided to patients as well as strengthen our local workforce and we are keen for this post to be part of developing these opportunities.
Working Pattern: 21 hours per week and 13.5 hours per week. Working hours between 07:00 and 18:00. Occasional extended hours to finish at 20:00. Working pattern negotiable within the working day as per service need.
Depending on your shift pattern and working hours, you may also receive additional enhancements to your pay.

This is a fixed term contract until March 2024. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.
