As our Senior Employee Relations (and Projects) Manager, you will line manage a number of Employee Relations Managers within the team and on a day to day basis you’ll be the go-to expert for all things ER. In terms of your own caseload you will  specialise in medical staffing cases (i.e employee relations cases involving doctors and dentists).  You will need to have an excellent working knowledge of the Maintaining High Professional Standards (MHPS) framework and be able to work closely with our Trust's Responsible Officer/Chief Medical Offer and Medical Directors.  Experience of advising on exclusion and restriction risk assessments as well as supporting MHPS investigations and liaising with the GMC and PPA is also a must.

Leading a dedicated team, you’ll tackle the most complex and sensitive cases, providing expert advice and guidance to managers and senior stakeholders across the Trust. Your role will be central in shaping and implementing HR strategies that align with our vision for high-quality, seamless services.

You’ll have the autonomy to lead Trust-wide HR projects, ensuring that every initiative is aligned with our corporate strategy and delivers real value to our workforce. Whether it’s advising on policy development, managing ER cases, or spearheading new HR projects, you’ll be at the forefront, making decisions that matter.

This role is tailor-made for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment and who has a solid background in ER and medical ER particularly within the NHS. Your ability to communicate complex issues clearly, manage a team effectively, and stay ahead of legislative changes will be key to your success.

This post can be based out of 2 locations; Newcourt House, Newcourt Drive, Exeter, Devon, EX2 7JQ or North Devon District Hospital, Raleigh Park, Barnstaple, Devon, EX31 4JB.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week
