The person in this position will hold the responsibility for team leadership within the secretarial department, overseeing day-to-day supervision of the team's activities. A primary objective of this role is to ensure that the secretarial team consistently delivers a professional, comprehensive, efficient, accurate, and timely service.
In addition to team leadership, the individual in this role will provide high-quality personal assistance to the management team. This includes offering responsible administrative support even in the absence of the management team, demonstrating initiative and the ability to work independently.
Maintaining the utmost security of information and upholding strict confidentiality standards are paramount duties of this position. The individual will be entrusted with ensuring that all sensitive information remains secure at all times.
Another significant aspect of this role involves delivering excellent customer care. This may include communication with distressed and anxious patients and their relatives. Tact and empathy are crucial in interactions to ensure a supportive and understanding approach.
Lastly, the incumbent will play a vital role in upholding the professional image of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. It is expected that they will consistently contribute to maintaining the organisation's high standards and positive reputation.
Overall, this position encompasses a diverse set of responsibilities, ranging from team leadership and administrative support to maintaining confidentiality, providing exceptional customer care, and upholding the professional image of the Trust.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
