Role Summary
- To have responsibility for Image Interpretation of planar x-ray images
- To produce high quality Image reports
- To produce high quality diagnostic images whilst maintaining the highest standards of patient care
- To participate in the training and education of junior members of staff, radiography students and other clinical colleagues
- To act as clinical expert radiographer for Trauma Radiography and liaison between Medical Imaging and the Emergency Department
- To participate in the training and supervision of trainee Reporting Radiographers
- To remain professional at all times and adhere to all Trust and Departmental policy and procedures
- To participate in the 7 day working rota for clinical and reporting duties

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our busy and friendly team in Medical Imaging at the Royal Devon University NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Radiographer who is qualified in plain film reporting who has qualifications in Axial, Appendicular or Chest reporting.
This role is based at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital and at the Devon Diagnostics centre. Our Medical Imaging team provide a broad range of imaging modality services including, fully DR Plain Film X-Ray, Nuclear Medicine, Interventional Radiology, CT, MRI, and Ultrasound.
The successful candidate will be expected to perform radiographic procedures to a high standard and be accountable for their professional actions and check the quality and validity of their reports. As a teaching hospital there is the expectation to be involved in the teaching and supporting of students, apprentices and newly qualified radiographers. You will be expected to take part in departmental audit and disseminate learning where appropriate.
Our radiographers work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of Consultant Radiologists, Nurses and support staff to deliver safe, effective and efficient patient focused care. Successful candidates to the role will be flexible, adaptable and deliver the highest standards of clinical care.
We are proudly in our sixth year as an accredited centre under the UKAS Quality Standards for Imaging (QSI) Accreditation Scheme, and have demonstrated a commitment to continued quality improvement for patients and staff.
