Role Summary
Our Radiology Nurses work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of Consultant Radiologists, Radiographers, Nurses and support staff to deliver safe, effective and efficient care to all patients attending the Radiology department. You will work within the Interventional Radiology theatre assisting with all procedures; this includes circulating and working as a scrub nurse to assist the Consultant Radiologists. You will also facilitate other image guided procedures (including CT, Ultrasound and Fluoroscopy.) This provides a diverse and engaging environment to work in.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and patient focussed nurse to join our friendly team of radiology nurses. The successful candidate will assist with interventional imaging procedures for patients across acute and non-acute pathways, as well as caring for patients before and after their procedures.
We welcome applications from all areas of nursing although previous experience in interventional radiology, endoscopy, cardiac catheterisation or theatre is desirable. Training will be given to successful applicants to ensure that an excellent knowledge of interventional procedures is gained. The key qualities of a radiology nurse are a passion to advocate for the patient and their safety, champion the trust values and have the desire to work within a dynamic team.
Radiology also plays a significant part in the new Community Diagnostic Hub located at the Sowton Site. As part of this, Radiology nurses will provide cover on a rotational basis to support the Fluoroscopy service and assist with day to day Radiology nursing assistance. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new service.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week. The Interventional Radiology service operates Monday-Friday, with an out of hours on call service to cover emergencies. Radiology nurses are required to participate in the interventional radiology on call rota and therefore the ability to drive or to be close to work is desirable.
On call work is paid at an enhanced rate in addition to your salary.
