Role Summary

To provide clinical leadership within the outpatients unit, supporting Clinicians and Ophthalmic Technicians in the delivery of Ophthalmology clinics.

To be responsible for the standards of patient care and services within the team, ensuring that nursing practice and patient services are in line with NMC Codes, statutory and Trust requirements.

To provide direction, supervision and control to team members in order that they provide patient care and services which are appropriate to the individual needs of the patient and the unit.

To provide cross cover support to other Ophthalmology sites in Exeter, on occasion.

Band 5 Nurse to work in Axminster Outpatients. Previous experience in Ophthalmology would also be an advantage but really is not essential, as full in-house training will be given.

So, a background in ophthalmology isn’t essential, but a willingness and aptitude to learn new skills which combined with a friendly and caring nature to support our patients is essential! It is essential to us that our patients have a positive experience in a supportive environment throughout their visit with us.

We also have free parking.

Working Pattern: Full time working 8.00 to 18.00 over four days. Would consider part time applicants. No weekends.

This is a fixed term contract for 9 months to cover maternity leave. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.
