Role Summary

  • To provide a professional efficient and effective Reception service to patients and visitors attending the Walk in Centre in accordance with Trust policies and standards relating to confidentiality and customer care.
  • To ensure patients details are accurately recorded and the relevant documentation created to support safe patient care.
  • To provide general clerical duties to support the patients care / journey though the department with the minimum of delay.
  • This position is instrumental in creating a “good first impression” of the Trust / Department to patients and visitors.

This is an exciting new opportunity to join our fantastic team in the Walk in Centre at Sidwell Street which is part of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Trust. We are looking to recruit three professional and reliable individuals to provide an efficient and effective Reception service to patients and visitors attending the Walk in Centre. The post holder will be proficient in dealing with confidentiality issues and able to provide excellent customer care service, ensuring patient’s details are accurately recorded and the relevant documentation is created to support safe patient care. This position is instrumental in creating a “good first impression” of the Trust / Walk in Centre to patients and visitors.

The Walk in Centre is an exciting and stimulating place to work and benefits from an innovative IT system. This role would suit someone who has excellent interpersonal skills, is proactive and looking for a challenge.

The successful candidates will demonstrate excellent communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure and experience of dealing with the general public and with difficult/distressed people. A flexible approach to work and experience of working in a busy environment and with minimal supervision are also essential.

Working Pattern: 15.5 hours average over a 3-week rolling rota (see rota on Job Description attached).

The post holder will be required to undertake additional hours to cover for colleagues during periods of annual/sick leave and also includes working Bank Holidays.
