Role Summary

The Procurement, Contracts and Performance Manager is a key member of the Our Future Hospital Programme team, successfully procuring and managing the performance of contracts for goods and services with a range of external service providers to meet the needs of the programme.

You will need to build positive working relationships between the Our Future Hospital Programme and external suppliers and contractors to ensure all parties meet their obligations in order to deliver the objectives required from the contract.

As a proven Procurement & Contracts Management Specialist, you will be involved in a once in a generation opportunity to help redevelop and futureproof our hospital services to provide better care for patients, a better place to work for our NHS staff and to help the NHS reach its net zero carbon ambition.

Our Future Hospital programme

North Devon District Hospital is one of 40 hospitals included in the Government’s New Hospital Programme. Backed by an initial £3.7 billion of investment, this commitment forms part of the Health Infrastructure Plan, a strategic long term programme of investment to ensure our health-care system, and its staff, has the world-class facilities it needs for the future.

About you

This is a high profile programme and you will work closely with the Our Future Hospital Programme team in the procuring of products and services and the management of performance against contracts, ensuring all parties meet their obligations pertaining to their contracts. You will support the delivery of business cases at strategic, outline and full business case levels, providing advice on your specialist areas, as well as leading on tender processes.

You will be a key member of the programme and will work across the teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and in line with the programme’s plan. You will be solution focused when working through any problems, and have the expertise to provide leadership, guidance and education to more junior members of the team.

What are we looking for?

  • Procurement and Contract Management experience on high value estates projects
  • Experience of working within the NHS
  • Proven experience of producing project documentation, procurement documentation, supporting business cases and concise report writing skills
  • Ability to work in a constantly changing environment
  • The ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external staff, suppliers and stakeholders

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday with core office days Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
