Private Patient Booking Coordinator/Medical Secretary

Role Summary

This role is a new role within the Trust and is being offered on a part-time basis to work alongside another part-time post to provide optimum cover during the working week. The post will work with teams across the Trust to manage the booking process of private patients. It will also provide a private secretarial service to consultants who wish to use it, which will involve recharging costs back to consultants. The role will be responsible for responding to enquiries that come via the website, email or telephone in a timely manner, providing the highest level of customer service.

An opportunity has arisen to join a unique team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The Private and Overseas Patient Team is a small dedicated team who are passionate about generating income for the Trust and providing advice and support to patients and staff. This role is part of a focussed development of private patient services to increase income for the NHS. It is a new role that will be the linchpin between the patient and the Trust and will help streamline a patient's access to our services. It requires someone with the ability to search out answers and react quickly to requests while providing the best customer care. Flexibility and attention to detail are essential and the ability to switch from one task to another with several interruptions is a bonus.
