The role of the Podiatry Diabetes Footcare Education HCA will be to provide support, assessment and training for patients with diabetes and staff across all inpatient wards at NDDH and South Molton plus education sessions in community clinics.

Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Podiatry Services were recently successful in securing additional funding for Diabetes Services as part of NHS England funding for Prevention and Treatment of Diabetes
This has created an exciting opportunity for a Health Care Assistant to join the team to provide education, patient support and assessment to inpatient ward staff at NDDH and South Molton Community Hospital.
The role of the Podiatry Diabetes Footcare Education HCA will be to provide support, assessment and training for patients with diabetes and staff across all inpatient wards at NDDH and South Molton plus education sessions in community clinics.
We are looking for a dynamic person to join our podiatry team who is self motivated with excellent communication skills. Following a period of training and induction, you need to be able to work with the support of the wider podiatry team providing foot screening and delivering foot health education and support to inpatient ward staff, patients and community teams.
You will be joining a caring and progressive podiatry team who provide a service in a variety of clinics, Health Centres, Hospitals, GP Surgeries and occasionally to Residential Homes and in patients’ own homes. Although based in Barnstaple you will be required to provide training in clinics throughout North Devon. Car owner & driver is essential for the post.
Working Pattern: 22.5 hours a week (Monday - Friday)

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.
