Role Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Podiatrists to join our friendly and supportive Podiatry Service within the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. These exciting opportunities are available across the Eastern locality.
There are two posts available (1.6 WTE in total):
1 x 37.5 hours per week Exeter based permanent post 1 x 22.5 hours per week Exeter Based fixed term for 12 months
We provide high-quality, patient-centred care across a variety of settings, including community clinics, acute outpatient departments, inpatient wards and patients' own homes. Our service supports a diverse patient population, with an increasing number of patients presenting with complex and high-risk foot conditions requiring regular podiatric intervention.
A significant aspect of the role involves the prevention and management of foot ulceration and amputation through evidence-based assessment, treatment and patient education. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and experience within the specialist diabetic foot service, working alongside experienced clinicians as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and management of patients presenting with a wide range of podiatric conditions. They will also be responsible for discharging patients who have completed their treatment or no longer meet the service access criteria.
The role offers opportunities to develop clinical skills across a variety of specialist areas, including nail surgery, musculoskeletal (MSK) podiatry, wound care, patient education and clinical audit.
The post holder will be expected to work flexibly across multiple sites to meet the needs of the service. They must work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and able to work independently, using their initiative to contribute positively to both their own professional development and the ongoing development of the service.
A sound understanding of clinical governance, risk management and evidence-based practice is essential, together with a commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of national guidelines and current best practice.
Applicants must hold a Degree or Diploma in Podiatry, be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and possess a Local Anaesthetic (LA) Certificate, as these are essential requirements for the role.
