Role Summary

The post holder will be based in the pharmacy clinical trials department at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, Wonford site.
Working within the specialist services division but supporting clinical trials across the organisation and with external stakeholders, the post holder will support and assist in the daily provision of all aspects of the pharmacy clinical trials service.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the pharmacy clinical trials team as a senior dispensing assistant at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust at a time of innovation and service development.

The Royal Devon continues to develop its research and development portfolio with excellent links with Exeter University and the clinical trials networks across the country.

The Trust has been selected to host a NIHR Patient Recruitment Centre, one of five sites selected across England. The centres provide dedicated space, purpose-designed facilities and medical expertise to deliver clinical research within NHS hospital sites, with the aim of increasing the number of studies being run across England. The initiative has increased the NHS’s capacity to deliver vital research for patients, while decreasing the time it takes to set-up late-phase commercial trials within the NHS - improving the UK’s competitiveness in the global market and providing opportunities for patients to benefit from early access to innovation.

The successful applicant will become part of the clinical trials pharmacy team supporting all aspects of clinical trial setup, delivery and closeout. They should be methodical, accurate and have good attention to detail. They should have good organisational skills and be able work flexibly and adapt to changing demands and priorities. They should be able to communicate effectively and be able to work effectively as a team member. The post will suit someone who has and NVQ level 2 in dispensing or willing to work toward this qualification and is looking to develop their career and knowledge, learn new skills and who are able to work in a demanding and busy service.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week participating in flexible working arrangements including late duties, weekends and bank holidays.
