More about the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the pharmacy aseptic team at the Royal Devon and Exeter Foundation Trust at a time of innovation and service development
Pharmacy aseptic staff are overseeing and maintaining the facilities used to prepare sterile medicines, including chemotherapy and developing methods for the safe production of these medicines.
Aseptic staff are providing medications for patients who needs cannot be met by standard products from the hospital dispensary. This avoids the need to produce these items on the wards, helping to reduce the risk of infection to the patient and the hazards of chemicals to ward staff.
The 25 aseptic staff members are therefore vital to providing care to some of the most complicated patients and it is having this knowledge that makes the job so worthwhile. An increase in clinical trials work, as well as the increasing range of cancer treatments and life expectancy of cancer patients, means that we are looking for ways to increase capacity in aseptic services.
We are looking for highly motivated, adaptable and conscientious full time Assistant Technical Officer to join our existing team. They will have the ability to work part of a team, maintain accuracy under pressure, and possess good organisational and communication skills.
