Role Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and friendly individual to join a dynamic and efficient library and knowledge service team providing support to Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Devon Partnership Trust. This role will be based out of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Exeter (Wonford).

We are looking for an individual who will enjoy reaching out to colleagues throughout our customer base to increase awareness of the support we provide to evidence based practise, continuing professional development and maximising the organisational knowledge base. Engaging with teams where they work, and supporting service users to develop the necessary skills to maximise the impact of the resources available to them, this person will actively seek out opportunities to engage with existing and potential library users.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills and be capable of prioritising their own workload. An experienced Librarian, you will have excellent IT skills, a sound knowledge of literature searching processes and critical appraisal techniques, and an engaging training style.

  • Shared responsibility for the library service Website and Intranet presence
  • Promoting library and knowledge resources to library users
  • Disseminating information about library services and resources
  • Identifying users’ needs
  • Working with specific departments or multi-disciplinary teams to provide highly specific, patient centred, evidence-based information at the time and place of need.
  • Contributing to the Library’s training programme by developing and presenting structured training sessions.
