Role Summary

Devon and Cornwall Sexual Assault Referral Centres provide care for anyone who has experienced sexual harm within Devon and Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Our Crisis Worker Team provide support to those over the age of 16 who have been raped or sexually assaulted within the previous 10 days who attend one of our 3 SARC sites for health care, including forensic medical examinations.

We are looking for compassionate and caring individuals who want to make a difference to people at a time in their lives when they have experienced significant trauma. Our out of hours crisis worker teams provide support to those over the age of 16 who have been sexually assaulted or raped and need to access the SARC between the hours of 17:00 - 9:00 or at the weekends. Crisis workers support patients who attend for a forensic medical assessment, acting as the patient advocate during their attendance at the SARC and ensuring that appropriate support is in place after the patient has left. 

You will work as part of a multi-agency team of Doctors and Forensic Nurses, providing high quality, trauma informed care.

These posts will be based at the Exeter SARC.

Working Pattern: This is a bank position. Out of hours shifts start at 17:00 every evening and end at 9:00 the following day. Weekend shifts are split between the day 9:00 - 17:00 and then 17:00 -9:00. A rota is circulated every month and crisis workers choose what shifts they would like to work.
