Role Summary

This post will suit an enthusiastic, dynamic doctor at F3/CT level looking to expand their clinical experience and build their portfolio while working within a supportive and nurturing team. There will be dedicated time to facilitate both this and quality improvement / research projects. The post holder will be part of the Trauma & Orthopaedic Department. Exeter is the current national centre for Orthopaedic research in England and it is expected that you will have opportunity to present your work at local, if not national, levels.

The post-holder will be mentored by a practising Consultant Surgeon and Perioperative Specialist. The post will start from August 2023 for either six or twelve months, by mutual agreement. The post holder will be part of the T&O junior doctor on-call rota; a 1:8 full shift pattern for days on call and 1:10 nights.  Approximately one day a week will be on-call and half a day a week designated to the Quality Improvement projects. Outside of these times, the successful applicant will work clinically on the wards as part of the Perioperative Team.

 

There are 28 Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons based at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre (PEOC) supported by a Perioperative and Orthogeriatric Team. We anticipate that the successful candidate will complement this vibrant and innovative group.

 

Successful applicants are anticipated to be invited for interview on 29th/30th June 2023.
